The Expressions (Blendshapes) tab is where you can adjust and manage the expressions of your avatar.
AvaKit classifies the avatar's Expressions (Blendshapes) into two properties: Base and Additive.
In AvaKit, the definitions of Base and Additive properties are as follows:
- Base: Only one base expression can be activated at a time. Activating a different Base expression will deactivate the currently active expression.
- Additive: Multiple Additive expressions can be activated and deactivated simultaneously.
You can select and click on the desired expression to activate it. Additionally, you can activate multiple Additive expressions to create the desired expression.
Expression (Blendshape) Properties
AvaKit provides various settings related to the selected avatar's expressions. Adjusting these settings allows you to create the desired expressions. To change the settings, click the edit button at the bottom of the expression tab to edit the properties of that expression.
The properties of expressions include:
- Preview: You can preview your selected expressions.
- Thumbnail: You can change the thumbnail that appears on the Expression tab to one of the following: face, hair, clothing, or accessories.
- Name: The name of the expression. The initial value is the existing expression name, but you can change it for easy recognition.
- Type: You can change the expression between Base and Additive.
- Trigger: Sets how the expression is played. Toggle plays the expression when the shortcut key is pressed and stops it when pressed again. Holding plays the expression only while the shortcut key is held down and stops it when released.
- Shortcut: Sets the shortcut key to activate the expression. A shortcut key is automatically assigned when uploading the avatar for the first time. To change the shortcut key, click the shortcut key button and set a new shortcut key. For more details, refer to the shortcut key section.
- Eye / Eyebrow / Lip Tracking: Allows you to enable or disable eye, eyebrow, and lip tracking while the expression is playing.
